An online platform to help young South African women land their dream careers

Last year (remember 2019?), thanks to a slew of Careers24 stats and a growing global zeitgeist around women-focused career conferences, Danielle Weakley launched Go Hustle with a small team of hustlers all also committed to Media24.

Go Hustle is an online empowerment and entrepreneurship platform for young South African women to land the career of their dreams. The content platform is supported by social media and offline experiences that provide networking, education, information and inspiration.

As Danielle Weakley says, “Our goal is to inspire and nurture a new generation of young female leaders to take ownership of their power, their finances, and their career paths. And we do this not only by harnessing the collective power of our network of experts, but also by enabling entrepreneurial pioneers who have paved the way for local business and enterprise to be praised and offer their mentorship and their experience.

“At Go Hustle, you’ll find the answers to many of your burning questions, but more importantly, you’ll meet a network of like-minded women jostling to get started; stretch their wings or take the next leap.

Go Hustle only held two – albeit inspiring – networking events before 2020 when Covid hit. The team quickly changed course and translated the calendar of events into a virtual calendar, holding regular #WFH Social Club pop-up events throughout the lockdown. The lineup has been stellar, with local and international guests talking about everything from finances and budgets to loneliness, goal setting, boundaries, stories of personal journeys.

“Thanks to this need for connection this year,” continues Danielle, “we also launched a series of podcasts and our newsletters, which add to the experience.”
